School Based Children's Intervention Program

The School Based Children's Intervention Program provides community based services to elementary school children with significant mental health needs through a partnership between school board personnel from the four local school boards, the family and Glengarda staff. All programming is available in both French and English language.

The intent of this program is to create a connection between home based services and school based services for children who require further skill development. The overriding goal is to support the children and families within the community school.

A collaborative team consisting of Glengarda staff, school personnel and the family determine the goals, duration of intervention and next steps. The goals and strategies can be implemented in a variety of settings depending on needs identified.

The four local school boards initiate referrals to the program, subject to parental consent to treatment.
